Born about five centuries too late to fulfill my calling as an explorer and cartographer extraordinaire, I took up photography during my first trips overseas to Asia, Europe, and South America. I began to take photography more seriously as my wife and I planned a yearlong trip around the world, where we visited all seven continents (you can see some photos of that trip in the #ouryearoutofoffice galleries). Upon our return to the US and relocation to Iowa, my travel and landscape photography hobby grew from solely personal memories and into printing for home decor, selling stock photography online, and helping others looking to take their next steps in photography.
